If you have a chatette, there may also be a chateau around the corner !

October 10, 2012

I have sometimes thought about what Laury meant by calling her house a chatette, even if she might have explained it somewhere in her blog, but by being in the chatette, it became clear that up the hill there was the chateau and up we went and behind the gate the chateau was, still impressive even it had seen better days, and even if small sheds was a bit fallen apart, it all shows that there has been life through centuries in this place. We also went to the church and the cemetery and saw this memorial stone telling about how the village may have been entertained at village festivals by an accordionist, but there was also music in the present Chatette proved by this beautiful grand piano more about this in the next post !

A friend of mine coined the word “Chatette”-a little Château…even though I believe a little Château in French is Chatelet. It stuck. I loved it and still do. And you’re right, all you have to do is look up from the terrace and walk around a corner or two and there’s the Château…the magic of just exactly this spot!

yes, and I feel the magic once again writing this, an additional benefit of this fantastic journey is to make this continued diary, which will probably take months to finish if I’m keeping the current speed, but it is like walking slowly, but steady !:) no rush !
