Art along the river

October 15, 2012

Already in Cahors, we saw Arts out in the street, here a knitted pillar on the Market Square in Cahors, but along the Lot river, we discovered art created out of the local material right there. All the mountains in the Lot Valley are made out of Limestone, very good material for making really smooth sculpturing as it has been done here in “Chemins-de-halage”by the sculptor Danniel Monnier On his website, you can read the story behind the beautiful wall, of course the things behind the scenes are not as beautiful as the art ! Another interesting artistic expression along the river was this sort of prolonged bench or a not completed bench. It actually took a few moments before I identified it as a piece of art ! so the Valley of Lot is full of art, also in the barn, Laury’s own gallery ! where she had invited local artists to present their artistic works, but before I tell more about that and a garden party she made for us, I’ll tell more about the old houses and old gardens in upcoming posts, stay tuned !
